Communication


Learning Goal: Seth can answer questions about material he has just seen, ie, who, what, matching or find one like this.


Evaluation: Seth is an Achiever. Seth has achieved this goal, answering questions about material to Level 2 of Blanks Questions. Seth will often find things in the pictures of give information before the questions have been asked. Seth has also asked me some questions about the texts he has viewed.













Next Steps: Seth's next step involves work at Level 3 of Blanks Questions which includes gathering information which is inferential.

Literacy

ILP Learning Goal: Seth can engage with an adult on set literacy tasks.
Evaluation: Seth is an Improver. Seth has participated in a variety of literacy tasks with the goal of building confidence in his alphabet knowledge and specifically making the connection between the phonetic sounds and the letter name. Seth is now able to correctly identify 90% of alphabet letters and make make the name connection with the phonemic sound.

Next Steps: For Seth this is about taking risks and making attempts at decoding words when he is reading. Seth does not like to make mistakes and this puts him off trying to sound out a new word. Seth will continue to practice literacy activities that allow him to practice making the sounds of the beginning letters of words. He will continue to expand on his language use for speaking and writing in his stories.

Written Learning Goal: Seth Green will use written words and visual language to describe his technology constructions.
Seth is able to find the adjectives, through discussion or from a word bank, to describe the technology he has achieved during literacy, and can write about and evaluate his creations.

Oral Language Goal: Seth will use descriptors when delivering his news.
During news time and the presentation of technology Seth has begun to use interesting describing words to give detail to his news and stories.
Reading Goal: Seth will read at level 3.
Seth's reading has improved over the last term, with him showing more confidence in his willingness to make attempts at words that he is not sure he knows.

Managing Self


Learning Goal: Seth can follow safe steps to toast his bread and spread on his jam.
Evaluation: Seth is an Achiever. Seth has achieved this goal and is able to independently toast his bread, spread his jam on and cut his toast.
Next Steps: Seth's next step could involve making a more complex toastie where he is required to add more ingredients and cook it in the toastie machine.




Learning Goal: Seth can follow a visual sequence to make himself a hot milo drink.

Evaluation: Seth has achieved his goal of making a hot milo independently. He knows what to do to make a milo safely and he does not require visuals to complete this task.


Next Steps: Seth could transfer this skill to use it at home.
